Questions Answered

Question: What has caused so much rioting? June 7, 2020  NEW

Answer: What began as peaceful protests were commandeered by paid, organized gangsters who steered the crowd into a vicious riot... Why?... According to the political doctrine of Karl Marxism, all humanity is divided economically along lines of the “haves” and the “have-nots.” ... Jesus identified one man’s “class envy” of his brother’s inheritance as “covetousness,” which He then condemned (Luke 12:13-21; Galatians 5:19-21) Read More

Question: Why does it seem that society is out of control?

Answer: Because the media focuses almost entirely on the “lawless,” or those who are “out of control! 1. The “lawless” are in charge because the “lawful” have not insisted otherwise! (1 Timothy 1:5-11) 2. Those who crucified Jesus Christ were ignoring: (1) Moses’ Jewish Law on guilt: (Deuteronomy 19:15). Question: How can Jesus help me with my problems today?
Answer: This is best illustrated by reading Scripture.  (Mark 6:45-50). Let’s note some parallels with our plight, today. 1. Jesus waited until they were “in the middle of the sea.” Why? They had to realize that He was back on shore and separated from them. But He knew where they were, and what their need was, and how to best help them, didn’t He? Today, we know that “after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God” (Mark 16:19). But we forget that He knows where we are, what our need is, and how best to help us, don’t we? 2. They were “straining at rowing, for the wind was against them.” Read More

Question: Is it scriptural for Christians to eat a fellowship meal in the church building, even if it offends some brethren?

Answer: Yes, and the answers are in Scriptures by way of reply. ... 1) Most assemblies of Christians involved a "temple" (which was borrowed space) or houses (which certainly had kitchens in them); 2) It was "with gladness and simplicity of heart" (spiritual unity) the church of Christ "ate their food" (a carnal meal) according to Acts 4:46. 3) Where   Read More

QuestionWhy is there so much fussing between different religions? Don’t we all believe in the same God?

Answer:  No, not only do we not believe in the "same god", we do not all believe the same about the One God! Therefore, one’s fundamental belief about God creates religious differences that cannot be overlooked.

Question:  When does life begin? And what about Abortion?

Answer: The Bible answer surely begins with David's inspired description of God's working in a birth:  Psalm 139:13 - 16. Read more.

Question: Were Adam & Eve real, or just a story?

Answer: If they were not real, then Jesus Christ and the New Testament are frauds and should not be believed. This question about the credibility of the Bible account is one of many challenges that must be met with truth, for only truth will set us free from our doubt (John 8:31-32). Read more.

Question: Are we in a "holy war"? Are Christians truly at war with Islam?

Answer: ... There has never been a carnal war between Christ's Kingdom and any government of men, because of the spiritual nature of the kingdom of Christ and the carnal nature of the kingdoms of men.

The Old Testament surely shows us that 1) Abram did good in rescuing Lot and his people and goods from the hands of the marauding kings (Genesis 14:1 - 16Read more.

Question: Should the Lord’s Supper be observed every week (on the first day of the week), less regularly, or annually?

Answer: This requires, as Bible subjects do, a study of the subject with all pertinent Scriptures presented. 1. Jesus established the supper by using the Passover meal's elements and giving them an entirely new meaning for His disciples (Matthew 26:26 - 30). Read more.

QuestionHow can we recognize bad advice from good advice?

Answer: James 3:13 - 16. There are many people who don't seem to have a clue about knowing what's wrong in their world today, or what to do about it. Everyone's "standard of living" seems to have shifted and confusion abounds on these matters. As always, the Bible not only identifies the cause, but also gives the cure. Based upon this passage in James 3, there are two tests to help us see if we are following bad advice. Read more.

QuestionWhat's wrong with change? (from an email sent 2/21/2008)

Answer: The wisdom of Solomon said: "My son, fear the LORD and the king; do not associate with those given to change, for their calamity will rise suddenly, and who knows the ruin those two can bring?" (Proverbs 24:21 - 22). In politics, the ruin of nations has been those who simply promised "change" and came into power. Read more.

QuestionTell me about division in the church. Isn't it to be expected?

Answer: Jesus warned of the dangers of being divided when unity is called for when He said: “But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: ‘Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand’” (Matthew 12:25). Read more.

QuestionMy Pastor said we have entered the End Times because there are wars and rumors of wars, after which Jesus will come again for the Rapture. Are we in the "end times"?

Answer: (1)  There is no Bible “sign” that precedes Jesus’ Second Coming; and (2)  There is nothing in the Bible about a millennial Rapture of God’s people from off the Earth. Let’s study Scripture for each part of the answer.

(1) Jesus predicted the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem (Matthew 24:1-2) and His disciples asked when that would take place and added another question about His coming (Matthew 24:3).  Read more.

Question: A friend, who is an ex church of God pastor, asked me to get your thoughts on 1 Corinthians 15:29, I believe this is the passage the Mormons cite for being baptized for your ancestors.

Answer: The section of Scripture under discussion is 1 Corinthians 15:20-32: “But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.   Read more.

Question: Are the modern day Jews still God’s chosen people?

Answer: Why not ask one of them, the Apostle Paul?

I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit, that I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my countrymen according to the flesh, who are Israelites... (Romans 9:1 - 8). Read more.
