Salvation and Worship: Mini Article

“So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read” (Luke 4:16).  Jesus began His public preaching in a Jewish synagogue. A “synagogue” was a local Jewish worship place.  “Custom” is what He was brought up doing:  going to “church!”  People who obey the Gospel will worship with the saved. The people who were told to “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins” (Acts 2:38). “Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. … And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers” (Acts 2:41-42). Salvation brings one into church worship. That church of Christ began 3000 strong. - April 19, 2021
