My Words of Wisdom Audios are 1-minute radio lessons which are studies from the Bible for our current times. “A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken” (Proverbs 15:13). A happy face usually shows a happy heart within. “Sorrow of the heart” would usually show a depressed or dejected individual. One person cannot have both at the same time!  “All the days of the afflicted are evil, But he who is of a merry heart has a continual feast” (Proverbs 15:15). Afflictions of any kind can make life seem to pass slowly because the difficulties are added onto the normal pressures of life. It is when we let these “afflictions” take over our lives that life becomes “evil.” “A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones” (Proverbs 17:22). Don’t deal with yesterday’s, or tomorrow’s, problems. Jesus said, “Sufficient for the day is its own trouble” (Matthew 6:34). - August 23, 2021
