Are Jewish People Still God's Chosen People?
“And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples and said to Him, ‘Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?’ Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: "The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.’”’ (Matthew 11:2-5). For centuries, Israelis had heard of One who was coming through them as God’s Chosen (“Messiah/ ”Christ”). The entire New Testament (Matthew- Revelation) proves, explains, and manifests the fact that Jesus of Nazareth is “the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16).
Modern Judaism denies this fact and therefore must be in agreement with Jewish leaders during the life of Jesus Christ who said, “The Jews answered him, ‘We have a law, and according to our law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God’" (John 19:7). “He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son’ (1 John 5:10-11).
