Jesus Christ said: "’Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him.’ And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith" (Luke 17:3-5).
(1) Who are you to judge another person’s heart? Legislation determining what are “hate crimes,” and Media rejecting confession of wrong-doing are contrary to God’s Word.
(2) Jesus said, “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” (Matthew 12:34). We must assume that spoken words are “heart-felt.”
(3) Sin is a violation of God’s Word. Who are you to add arbitrary, man-made “works of penance” to make someone’s repentance to your liking? It is “godly sorrow [that] produces repentance leading to salvation” (2 Corinthians 7:10). Repentance is between the sinner and God. - 6-15-2021
