“Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it” (Hebrews 3:17 - 4:1).
1) Israelites in the wilderness failed to enter the Promised Land because they did not finish the journey as God commanded.
2) “Unbelief” is not obeying.
3) The resurrected Jesus said "preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned” (Mark 16:15-16). Falling short of His command is “unbelief.” - 7/5/2021
