Angels announced at Jesus’ birth: "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!" (Luke 2:14). Why, then and now, is there not “peace on earth?” It is because there are not more men of goodwill! Preachers should “preach Christ” motivated by “goodwill” toward men (Philippians 1:15). “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). Everything a Christian does should be “as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men” (Ephesians 6:6-7). Jesus said: "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace" (John 16:33). Peace on earth is for those who follow the Prince of Peace. - December 23, 2019
