Mass Murder Motive - Mini Article

After sin entered the world through the free choice of Adam and Eve, their son, “Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him” (Genesis 4:8). Toward the end of the New Testament, the explanation is given: “we should love one another, not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous” (1 John 3:11-12). Stephen Craig Paddock fired on a Las Vegas outdoor concert crowd in 2017, murdering 59, wounding over 500 others. With multiple weapons in his motel room, Paddock clearly pre-meditated murder. While authorities searched for a motive, God has already given one, he: “was of the wicked one and murdered!” God made us, God explains us, and the answers are in the Word of God!       - October 7, 2019
